Spring 2007 Jen and Andy went over to the Wairarapa, to the usually
sleepy rural town of Martinborough for and event called Toast
a food and wine festival. Transport was arranged via Jenny's work, and
a hired coach was taken to wend the slow, winding route over the
to the Wairarapa. The day was very warm, and a lot of wine was drunk
and food devoured. The event takes place at various different vineyards
the town, with entertainment provided by each vineyard. The highlight
on the bill was due to be Kiwi singer Hollie Smith, who was due to play
at the Te Kairanga
vineyard. Sadly, this location filled out early on and we couldn't gain
access to see the event. Here's a few photos of the day.
